Why SalonAnswer exists
SalonAnswer is built and run from Auckland by ETJP Group Limited. We build one thing, for one kind of business, and we would rather do that properly than build a general-purpose product that suits nobody.
The problem we kept seeing
Salons are one of the few businesses where the person answering the phone is usually also the person delivering the service, with both hands occupied, for hours at a time. There is no back office. There is no spare person. When the phone rings during a full head of foils, it rings out, and nobody finds out who called.
Every other fix asks the salon to do more work. Check voicemail between clients. Ring people back on your break. Answer while holding a brush. We wanted the fix that asks the team for nothing.
Why salons specifically
General AI receptionists exist. They handle a plumber and a law firm and a salon with the same script, and they are noticeably worse at all three for it.
A salon phone call has particular shapes. Colour cannot be quoted honestly without knowing hair length and history. A three-hour balayage cannot land in a forty-minute gap. A regular asking for her stylist should not be silently reassigned. Deposits have to be explained the same way to everyone or they cause arguments. None of that is in a generic script, and all of it is in ours.
What we believe about customer service
The point is not to remove humans from your salon. It is to stop your humans being interrupted by a phone while they are doing the work your clients are actually paying for.
An AI receptionist should be excellent at the repetitive, rule-bound part of the job and should hand over the moment judgement is required. Any vendor claiming their AI handles everything is either exaggerating or has not thought hard about what happens when a client rings upset.
Why New Zealand
We are in Auckland, the salons we work with are here, and the software they run is often NZ-built. That means setup calls happen in your time zone, your clients hear a New Zealand or Australian voice, and when something needs changing there is a real person to ring rather than a support queue in another hemisphere.

We tell you when it will not work
If your call volume does not justify the cost, we say so on the call. We would rather lose a sale than sign a salon that churns in three months feeling misled.
A human is always the fallback
The agent hands over rather than guessing. Complaints, colour corrections, anything clinical and anything ambiguous goes to a person. An AI that improvises damages your salon.
We do not claim what we have not got
No borrowed certifications, no invented customer counts, no testimonials we wrote ourselves. Everything on this site is either true or clearly marked as unconfirmed.

NZ and AU voices, NZ place names, NZ salon software. Your clients should not hear an offshore call centre reading a script.
The company
SalonAnswer is a product of ETJP Group Limited, based in Auckland, New Zealand. We build the agent, configure it around your salon, test it with you and support it afterwards.
The voice platform underneath is an enterprise system we license rather than one we built ourselves. We say this openly because some vendors do not, and you should know what you are buying. What we build is everything that makes it work for a salon: the service logic, the rules, the testing and the ongoing tuning.
